Information for specific audiences:

Online Application Admission Process

Admissions

Graduate students are admitted to the University of South Carolina through a cooperative effort between The Graduate School and the University's colleges and departments. After reviewing your credentials, a faculty committee makes a recommendation to The Graduate School. Admissions decisions are coordinated by a faculty member who serves as the Graduate Director in each academic department.  Your department may choose to inform you that they have recommended your acceptance, but official notice of your admission (or declination) can only come from The Graduate School.

Program Interviews

If the faculty in the program to which you are applying want you to come to the University for an interview, they will contact you directly to arrange it.

Deadlines

Some programs have early deadlines or only consider admission for certain terms.   Most programs have early deadlines for financial aid.   Follow this link (Graduate Programs) to deadline information about your program of interest.   Only if the program has no specific deadline or if you are applying as a non-degree student, the following application deadlines apply.

After one year, incomplete files are destroyed, and the application fee is forfeited. Of your application is declined, within one year of your original application, you may request in writing that your application be reconsidered for admission to that program or considered for admission to another graduate program without resubmitting your credentials (a $15 fee is required).  However, it would be appropriate to provide a new letter of intent or statement of objectives and any supplementary application forms or materials.
